If you haven’t read this, you should be ASHAMED of yourself.

I’m serious, you should know this… and if you don’t, it’s ok… you
Can redeem yourself by reading this entire article…So last week…

I was at a Texas airport, drinking my Mocha, getting ready to fly
Back to Georgia, when I purchased a small book before boarding
My plane called “Minute Motivators For Leaders”.

Now the information wasn’t really anything new, but it was fun
and inspiring. It did however; remind me of something I know
to be true from psychological studies…There are 3 Major ways
to motivate people…2 of which, I’ve already talked about in
previous articles which were “flattery” and “inspiration”.

I’ve talked about ways to implement those methods in your ads &
marketing for maximum response. The third one is a bit different
though, but VERY fascinating, and VERY powerful. It should not be
taken lightly…and that’s “guilt”.
Primarily guilt by association…or lack there of.

Let me explain… (This is what every Magnetic Leader knows
Or has read…)

“Everyone of us wants to work with and learn from the best.”
And there is some “extended–‐ truth” to that statement…Everyone,
(Including you), also wants to be “associated “with the best.

That’s what put you RIGHT HERE reading these very words! …Whether
You realize it or not.

But it’s true…We ALL want to belong, even you and me.

We all want to be a part of the “insiders circle”.

We want to learn, know and “do” as the leaders do.

And most of all… we want to be recognized as a part of it.

This recognition will stem from our “association”, which
Is where we sub–‐consciously know our recognition is going
To be awarded. So in essence, our association is where our motivation
lies.

All people want to be associated with the “supreme” of their industry.

It’s instinctive. Now the funny thing is it’s this “instinctiveness” that
Compelled you to click on this article, and it’s the “guilt factor” that
caused you to begin reading it.

But the funnier thing is how I did it.

I simply removed “you” from the “insiders circle”.

I removed you from the “group of leaders”. Not literally, but
With my title, I removed your “association” and you sub–‐ consciously
didn’t like it!

You needed to “re-­engage.”

To simplify…I used “guilt and association” to force you into reading this
article.

And it was for a good cause…as to teach you…I have to demonstrate
first hand.

I hope you’re not mad. ;)

Let me show you exactly what I mean…and why this worked on
you…

1.)The title contains a blatant embedded command designed to catch
The “searching eye”…”READ THIS”.See it at the end of the title?
It’s even SHOUTING in all CAPS! But it still appears subtle.

2.) “Every Magnetic Leader Has READ THIS”.This implies that “magnetic leaders” know something you may not,
And if you belong to their group, then you MUST READ it too!

It also might make you “uncomfortable” feeling possibly ‘out of the
loop’ if you consider yourself to be a ‘magnetic leader’. See
how I sparked your animosity? Neat ay?
So when writing your ads, remember association and/or guilt can
Be VERY POWERFUL motivators to get prospects attention! After
all…it worked on YOU!:p

Just be sure to use it in a positive context …or you will be banned from
The “circle of leaders”. ;)

to use “guilt/association” in your own ads and go spin some heads!

Tips for Avoiding some common management “Pitfalls”.

1. Don’t make autocratic decisions-making? Have other people share in decisions-making helps empower those around you and make them a team player. Other people can help you see problem from any different angles, so ask for input from others. When you have important decision to make.

2. Don’t set vague goals? People want to know exactly what you expect of them. They have to know what they are suppose to do in order to be able to do it well. Help your people or team see how they can personally help you accomplish your team goals.

3. Don’t act inconsistently. If, you they are kept guessing about what you expect of them, frustrations will build and productivity will slide. Set down some written rules for the team in your group to abide. This will let your team know that you plan to trust them fairly and equitably.

4. Don’t play favorites? Playing favorites is destructive discrimination. Your other team members will begin to resent those you favor and effective team work will become a thing of the past.

5. Don’t abuse privileges? You may have some perks for motivation but don’t over do or flaunt them. Perks are only for motivational purposes and makes one individual work for the higher level of expectation to achieve the perks.

6. Don’t resist change? Iit will only hunt your growth as a person. It may also lead to your industry ultimate demise. Stay on the leading edge of change in your industry, so you don’t get gobbled up by competition.

7. Don’t ignore any one potential ? Make sure that all team members or associates are given what they deserve and to the right person. This will help your industry see that hard work and a positive attitude can lead to success.

Leaders are not born….Leaders are made.

The fear of failure runs deep in many of us. Hidden deep beneath a veneer of confidence and self assurance. However, emerge in many less recognizable forms as poor decision -making.

People consider a fear of failure a weakness most successful and happy people can come to grips with and master their anxieties about failure.

Questions: Answer them honestly. By answering you may discover how fears influence your actions.

1. Have I ever failed to make a decision because I feared being wrong? When you admit to yourself that a fear of failure has limited you from effective decision-making, you can work to break free from the grip of that fear.

2. Was I really reacting to fear the last time I got angry? Anger is just over defensive reaction to fear. It’s part of that “Fight or Flight” instinct we have. Once you’ve mastered your fears, you’ll probably find it easier to master your anger.

3. Do I avoid contact with people up the line because I am awed by them? The most powerful people are human being with their own flaws. Do not avoid people who are more powerful than you because you’ve
in awe of them.

4. Do I expect failure when I start a new project? Expecting to fail is the easiest ways to guarantee failure. Making it a point to set your expectations high, and work hard to achieve them. If you fall short of your goals, you will likely achieve far more than you ever would have if you had anticipated and expected failure.

5. Do I tend to underestimate my past successes? Don’t forget or play down your past accomplishments. Instead use them as a catalyst for future success.

6. Do I worry that someone else may get my job? Worrying that everyone is out to get your stifles team work and eliminates your chance to build alliances with those around you. In addition , it can cause tension between those around you, leading to poor performance and low morale and that can put your success on the line.

The natural decline of some of our mental abilities as we age starts much earlier than some of us might expect. Mental powers start to dwindle at 27 after peaking at 22, marking the beginnings of the aging process, US research suggests. Professor Timothy Salt-house of Virginia University found reasoning, speed of thought and spatial visualization all decline in our late 20s. Therapies designed to stall or reverse the ageing process may need to start much earlier, he said. His seven-year study of 2,000 healthy people aged 18-60 is published in the journal Neurobiology of Aging. To test mental agility, the study participants had to solve puzzles, recall words and story details and spot patterns in letters and symbols.

At the Alzheimer’s Research Trust, the same tests are used by doctors to understand cognitive development and decline. In nine out of 12 tests the average age at which the top performance was achieved was 22. The first age at which there was any marked decline was at 27 in tests of brain speed, reasoning and visual puzzle-solving ability. Things like memory stayed intact until the age of 37, on average, while abilities based on accumulated knowledge, such as performance on tests of vocabulary or general information, increased until the age of 60.

Therefore, Mind Development should ideally be started early to avoid decline. But it’s never too late, as given appropriate stimuli the brain is remarkably flexible and the usual decline can indeed be reversed by thoroughly practiced cognitive development techniques.

Peak Mental Performance

The hardware of the human computer is the brain; the software is the person’s mind; the programmer is the human spirit. The aim of Mind Development is to awaken people to their innate powers of mind. To achieve this it is necessary to improve introspective awareness and in particular to regain awareness of mental processes that are normally below the level of consciousness, so that you are in touch with your full knowledge base and can access it intuitively. This kind of metacognition (’knowing what you know’) is formally described as mature intuition. In this way, the person becomes awakened as the “meta-programmer” of his mind. Of course, the ends to which such awakened powers are applied lie within the hands of each student. There are many ways in which we can begin to make our lives count and improve the lot of Mankind.

As long as we are depending on safe solutions, prejudiced judgments and fixed ideas, our mind is closed to inspecting anew, to discovering our own truth. Those mental structures affect the way that we feel and act, and filter our perception so that we are unlikely to notice the message of nature and we are likely to distort the meaning of the song in our heart.

It’s Catch-22. The beauty of nature is often just what we need to remind us that our problems are exaggerated in our minds; and the gut feelings we have, if listened to, bring us back to the reality of our core instincts and intuitive sense.

So actually we need both, the intellect and the heart. And to move forward in our lives, we need the two well integrated and cleared of distortions, misperceptions and limitations. Our genuine feelings need to be released and our beliefs re-examined - so that we act from inspiration, not from the dictates of earlier conditioning.

The two work hand-in-hand. Rationality does not necessarily mean masculine insensitivity, and heart intelligence is not just for the naive. Feelings and relationships need focus and direction, and action needs an empathic understanding of context. Objectivity in the light of love is the means.

2. The right brain ( patterns, symbols)
3. The mid-brain (emotions)
4. and the brain stem (physical stimulation)
All in sync with each other. You see, it is the conflict , the disharmony, the competing agendas of these four parts of the brain that keep you from achieving your goals.

Don’t break the elastic!

In April, Maya Angelou was interviewed by Oprah on her 70+ birthday.. Oprah asked her what she thought of growing older. And, there on television, she said it was ‘exciting…’
Regarding body changes, she said there were many, occurring every day…..like her breasts. They seem to be in a race to see which will reach her waist, first.

The audience laughed so hard they cried. She is such a simple and honest woman, with so much wisdom in her words!

Maya Angelou said this:
‘I’ve learned that no matter what happens, or how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.’

‘I’ve learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.’

‘I’ve learned that regardless of your relationship with your parents, you’ll miss them when they’re gone from your life.’

‘I’ve learned that making a ‘living’ is not the same thing as ‘making a life.’

‘I’ve learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.’

‘I’ve learned that you shouldn’t go through life with a catcher’s mitt on both hands; you need to be able to throw some things back….’

‘I’ve learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision..’
