Plastic sheathing and masking tape was not available at the end of the painting project for whatever reason, I have no idea, but you have a Paint Brush that if not cared for will eventually dry up. Last solution that works well, is to take a sopping wet rag, wrapping the Paint Brush up like that burrito you missed wrapping up earlier. This will buy you some time until either you use the paint brush again, or you can properly clean it. Inside the house is where acrylic shines. It dries faster than other types, and it keeps its color better, without yellowing. One disadvantage: It costs more. Basically what you're looking for is a good, solid foundation of existing paint that is stable and still strongly bonded to the car. Many times an original factory paint job, even after decades will meet these criteria.
Special Surfaces. WHITEWASH. Whitewashes and lime paints must be thin when applied. In fact, best results will be obtained if the application is so thin that the surface to which it is applied may easily be seen through the film while it is wet. The coating will dry opaque, but two thin Coats will give better results than one thick coat. THE BRUSHWORK. Depending on the art movement and personal peculiarities of the artist, the brushwork can range from delicate and almost invisible to rough and plastic. So lets start with Warm and Cool. When thinking about Warm, think about a desert panorama of gold, brown and earth tones. When thinking about Cool think of colors in the artic such as gray, black, white or think of the deep blue sea such as deep blues, blue greens and turquoise. Everyone can wear just about any color, the difference is in the shade of the color. When thinking of clothing, makeup or accessories, visualize Cool as a color with a drop of silvery-blue. Visualize Warm as a color with a drop of gold. For example, if you put a drop of gold to a red sweater it becomes a Warm red, but if you put a drop of silvery blue it becomes a Cool red. Use Tinted Primer for Dark Paint Colors. In our second case, suppose you want to apply a deep, dark blue to a beige wall. The good news is that it will be easier to darken a light color than it was to lighten a dark color. In fact, it may only take 2 - 4 coats to get total color coverage in this scenario. The bad news is that if you start out with a white primer you are already moving in the wrong direction. Doing so could increase the number of paint coats you need to 3 - 6... plus the coat of primer! That's a lot of painting!
